MON 21st May We are now fully recovered from our crossing and really enjoying Galacia. We at present in Camarinas a quiet Ria. As you come in from the sea it is like being transported to the Lake District or a Scotish Loch. The area is heavily forrested and quite beautiful. We were not quite sure what to expect when we got here and thought we may have to anchor off a noisey fishing port. However we found a nice and sophisticated town with a small very friendly marina and yacht club. Tomorrow we heads off to the Ria Muros and hope to go inland to visit Santiago de Compestilla.(look it up on the net) it is reputed to be one of Spain's most beautiful old city's. la Coruna N Spain. Hi everybody we have now arrived in La Coruna, and we are very pleased to be here. The Bay of Biscay lived up to its reputation. We left Falmouth early on Friday 12th and arrived on Sunday at 1820 bst. The forecast was for light or little wind, what did we get? A howling gale and seas like you would not believe Josephine and Mandy did very well and we are now recuperating in this beautifull Spanish city. Tomorrow we set off around the corner ( cape Finistre) and start to explore the Rias, which are reputed to be especially beautifull. We are very new to this blog idea so please be patient with us. Hi everybody from Ray and Mandy.

We set off from Gosport in mid April and have eventually arrived in Falmouth and we are now ready to depart, next stop N Spain!


We have been plauged by bad weather from the day we arrived on the boat but have had a great time visiting Weymouth, Dartmouth, Plymouth and finaly Falmouth which we have really enjoyed.

On route we met our very good friends Sam and June who have a beautifull boat in Plymouth and they followed us down to Falmouth whilst they were competing in a three port triangular race. Sam and June look set to raise an incredible £3000.00 plus in sponsorship for the Macmillan Nurses.

In Falmouth we met Dudley Tapper from Ingestre golf club and his new wife. They came on board and we had a lovely afternoon.

We leave Falmouth at around 0300 on Friday 11/05 and hope to arrive in La Coruna in approx 3/4 days time. After all the adverse conditions that we have endured the weather is hopefully turning in our favor with N/NW winds forecast, and possibly a little sun!
